Symbolic mark
Outer court shapes of a circle which represents the first letter of Uiwang of 'o', and it also represents perfection that united heaven earth and man. The three green peaks indicates graceful natural environment of three areas of Uiwang city, and as a united trio of mountains, it symbolizes regional unification and the residents' harmony. Inner roads represent Uiwang City as a transportation hub that runs in all directions while the rising sun from a mountain symbolizes a development-oriented image of Uiwang City as a leading city in the Metropolitan area in the Millennium 21st century. The green heart means an environment friendly local patriotism that loves nature and the region.
Brand Slogan
The new slogan brand of Uiwang-"YES! Uiwang" implies the comprehensive meaning of a positive mind that can say "YES" to citizens' any call or demands, an enterprising mind that will meet any challenges for the development of the city, and an open mind that considers and respects others with tolerance and concessions for others ."Y"for "Yes" and "U" for "Uiwang" is linked as a shape of a rainbow to symbolize hope and prosperity of the future, and it means "You" in English phonetics.
Character of Uiwang City
The Zelkova tree, our city tree, which captures the innocence of a child at play, best symbolizes our character. The Korean Magpie, our supplementary emblem, provides a sublime counterpoint to the Zelkova tree.
City tree
It symbolizes a sublime and honest civic spirit and eternal prosperity for the new city.
City flower
Royal azalea, which growth throughout Cheonggye Mountain and Baekwoon Mountain as well as the whole city, earned its name through a story that it was so stunning that made passersby stop in their steps. The meaning of the flower is delight of love.
City bird
Both inhabit Cheonggye Mountain and the nearby hills, and symbolize a feeling of intimacy and news.
City Animal
Squirrels, which range throughout Baekwoon Mountain and the whole city symbolize a feeling of intimacy and diligence.
